Tahera Garments

We are based in the Garden Reach area of Kolkata, specifically at D156 T.G. Road in Fattepur. Our workshop is run by Md. Shamim Khan and we’ve been making clothes here for a good while. Kolkata is a busy city and our street is no different. There is always something going on outside our door. Inside, we have our machines and our cutting tables. It’s a practical space designed for work, not for showing off. We handle all sorts of garment work, mostly just focusing on getting the orders finished on time. It can be a bit cramped when we have a lot of fabric delivered, but we make it work. We aren't a big brand you’d see in a mall. We’re just a local business trying to make a living and provide something useful. Our team is small and we all work pretty close together. Sometimes the tea break is the best part of the day when we can just sit for a minute and relax. We don't spend money on advertising because we don't really need to. Most people in the neighborhood know what we do and they just come to us directly. It’s an honest way to do business. We just take the fabric, do the work, and hand over the finished pieces. It’s been this way for years and we’re happy to keep it going as long as we can in this spot.
