Our office is located right on Garden Reach Road, near the S.E. Railway area in Kolkata. It is an incredibly busy and noisy part of the city, especially with the trains moving nearby and all the industrial activity in the docks. We have been based here for a long time now, primarily focusing on placement work. We help people find jobs, many of which are in technical or railway-related fields because of our location. The office itself is quite old-fashioned and simple. We have those big metal filing cabinets and heavy wooden desks that have been here since we started. It is definitely not the kind of place with bean bags, glass partitions, or fancy coffee machines. We just have a small kettle and some tea for the staff. People who come in are usually looking for steady, honest work. We talk to them, check their papers, and see if there might be an opening that fits their skills. The noise from the railway tracks is just something you get used to after working here for a week or two. We don't do much in the way of advertising our services. Most people find us just by walking past the building or through word of mouth from their friends. It is a very hands-on kind of job. We spend a lot of time writing things down in big ledgers and making phone calls to different supervisors or managers to check for openings.
