Surji Agro Foods is located in B-Block on the 8th floor of Poddar Point. It’s a well-known building, so most people don't have trouble finding us. We work in the food processing sector, specifically dealing with agricultural products. Our office is where the planning and the paperwork happen. We have a lot of files regarding grain quality and shipping schedules. It isn't a factory floor, so it’s mostly just us at our desks making phone calls and checking prices. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. We don't use a lot of marketing jargon to talk about our food products. We just focus on getting the raw materials from the farms to the processors. It’s a lot of coordination and making sure the timing is right. If the weather is bad, it affects our work, so we’re always checking the forecasts. We’re a straightforward group of people. We don't have a big mission statement on the wall. We just show up, do the work, and try to make sure the food supplies are moving where they need to go. It’s a steady job and we take it one day at a time. If you drop by, you’ll probably find us mid-conversation with a supplier or a transport manager. There is always a lot to keep track of, but we get it done and move on to the next day.
