Sufi Engineering

We’re over at 166, Becharam Chatterjee Road. It’s a typical street, and our workshop and office space fit right in with the neighborhood. Sufi Engineering is basically a small team of us who enjoy fixing things and putting together metal parts. The shop floor is usually covered in scraps and tools, but we know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. We don’t have a big sign or a fancy lobby. People usually just knock on the door or walk straight in if they see us working. It gets pretty hot and noisy when the machines are running, so we usually have to shout to hear each other. We take on all kinds of small and medium engineering jobs that come our way. Sometimes a neighbor needs something welded, or a local business needs a part repaired. We don't mind the variety. It’s better than sitting behind a desk all day, though we have to do that for the billing and orders too. The lighting in the back isn't the best, so we do the detailed work near the front windows. We’ve been here for a while and have a good rhythm going. It’s just honest work with our hands, making sure things are sturdy and functional. We don't use big words to describe what we do; we just show the finished product to the person who asked for it.
