Our place is at 28 Jessore Road in Dumdum. If you've ever traveled this way, you know how Jessore Road can get with the trucks and the commuters heading toward the airport or into the city. Steiner India Ltd. has been operating out of this spot for a while, and we’ve seen the area change quite a bit over the years. The building is older, but it serves its purpose well enough for what we do every day. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, some storage, and us trying to keep track of everything that needs doing. We don’t really go in for the polished corporate look because we’re usually too busy actually working. The noise from the road is a constant background hum that you eventually stop noticing after a few weeks of being here. We have a small crew, and everyone knows what their job is, so we don't need a lot of meetings or big announcements to keep things moving. Lunch usually involves someone going out to grab food from one of the local stalls nearby, or we just eat at our desks if things are particularly frantic. It’s a practical environment where the focus is on getting the orders out and making sure the paperwork is correct. We aren't flashy, just a group of people who show up and do the work that needs doing in this corner of Dumdum. It’s a bit gritty sometimes, but that’s just life on a major road.
