Sriguru Melters & Engineers

Sriguru Melters & Engineers is located at 20A, Mahesh Dutta Lane in Chetla. It’s one of those narrow lanes where everyone knows each other. The shop itself is a bit of an old-school setup. We deal with melting and engineering, so it gets pretty hot inside, especially during the summer months. There’s always the sound of hammers or machines going in the background. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find people in suits. We’re usually in our work clothes, covered in a bit of soot or grease by noon. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change, but our work stays mostly the same. It takes a certain kind of person to handle the heat and the heavy lifting, but we’ve got a good small crew. We don’t spend much time on computers; most of our work is done by hand or with the older machines we’ve had for years. It’s a bit cramped in here with all the metal and the furnaces, but we make it work. Lunchtime is usually spent sitting on whatever stools we can find, just catching a break before heading back to the heat. We don’t have a fancy sign or a big lobby. Just a door on Mahesh Dutta Lane and a lot of hard work happening behind it every single day. We just keep our heads down and get the jobs done.
