Sri Kaligambal Exports And Imports

Our place is over at Plot No. 18/B in Phase III of the Naroda GIDC. It is a very industrial spot with lots of trucks and dust everywhere. We deal with the export and import of various goods, so there are always wooden crates and shipping containers around. The sun hits the plot pretty hard in the middle of the day, making it very hot. We have a small cabin that serves as our office where we keep all the customs forms and shipping bills. It is a lot of paperwork and stamps. We spend a lot of time worrying about port schedules and whether the weather is going to delay a shipment. Sometimes we are here late into the night because of the time difference with people in other countries. It is not a clean or quiet job. You get grease on your hands from the truck ties and the air always smells like exhaust. We do not have any fancy corporate culture or anything. We just make sure the goods get from one place to another without too much trouble. It is a lot of phone calls and waiting for emails to come through. We just show up every day and deal with whatever container is arriving or leaving next.
