South Asian Medical Students Association

Our office is tucked away at 9B/1FL on Paramhansa Deb Road over in Alipore. It is an old part of Kolkata, and the building has that classic feel you find around the 700027 area. South Asian Medical Students Association is really just a group of us trying to keep things moving for medical students across this region. It is not a big corporate setup. Mostly, it is just desks, some old filing cabinets, and people coming in and out between their hospital shifts or classes. Sometimes the ceiling fans make a bit too much noise, but we still get the work done. Being near the post office makes it easy to handle all the mail we receive. We spend a lot of time organizing events or just talking about what needs to happen next for the association. It is a bit of a squeeze sometimes when we have meetings in the small back room. We do not have a big marketing budget or a fancy reception desk. If you come by, you will probably find someone drinking tea and staring at a laptop. It is a practical space for practical work. We have been here in West Bengal for a bit now, and we know the neighborhood well. It is a quiet street for the most part, which is nice when things get hectic with the exams. We just keep our heads down and do what needs doing for the members.
