Golf Glass Corner

Golf Glass Corner is located at 7/12D in the Bijoygarh area. It’s a relatively small shop, but we have a lot of glass packed into the space. We have large sheets of glass leaning against the walls, so you really have to watch where you are walking when you come inside. There is usually a bit of glass dust on the counters and the floor, which is just part of the job when you are cutting things to size. Bijoygarh is a nice neighborhood, and we see a lot of the same faces walking by every day. We don't have any big machines; it’s mostly just hand tools and a steady hand for the cutting. The shop gets a lot of natural light, which is good for seeing what we are doing, but it can get quite hot in the summer months. We spend our time measuring frames and making sure the edges are smooth. Sometimes people bring in old mirrors that need fixing or they want a specific type of glass for a window at home. We just take the measurements and do what needs to be done. It’s a quiet kind of work compared to the big factories. We don't have a big team, just a couple of us here most days. It’s a simple local shop and we like being part of the community in this corner of Kolkata.
