Smilax Trexim Pvt. Ltd. is right on the ground floor of No. 12 Kailash Bose Street. We are directly opposite Sreemani Market, so there is always something going on outside our door. Being on the ground floor is very handy because we don’t have to deal with elevators or stairs when we are moving things in and out. The market across the street means it’s always crowded and noisy, but we like the energy of the area. Our office is a bit of a mix. We have a front area where we talk to people and a back area where the real work happens. It’s a lot of trading and export-import management. Even though we are a private limited company, we don't have a big corporate vibe. Most of us have worked here for years and we treat the place like a second home. The walls are a bit faded and the desks have seen better days, but everything works just fine. We spend our time coordinating with different agencies and making sure the logistics side of things is moving. Since we are near the market, we often step out for snacks or to meet people in the tea shops nearby. It’s a very local way of doing business. We don’t use a lot of fancy software; a lot of our tracking is done the old-fashioned way. It seems to work well enough for what we need to do. It is a busy, noisy, and productive place.
