Site Engineer

I run my site engineer work out of Missionpally in the Sonarpur area of Kolkata. The pin code here is 700150. It’s a pretty busy part of the city, and being a site engineer keeps me moving from one spot to another all day. I don’t have a big staff or a shiny office with glass walls. My space in Missionpally is where I keep my tools and my drawings. Most of my time is spent on-site, dealing with the heat and the noise of the city. Kolkata is always growing, and there is always something being built or fixed. I’ve been doing this for long enough to know that things rarely go exactly as planned. You might have a problem with the soil one day or a delay with the labor the next. I just show up and try to figure it out. People around Sonarpur know me as the person they can call when they need someone to look at a project. It’s a local thing, really. I don’t spend much time on fancy talk. I’d rather be out there seeing how the concrete is setting or if the beams are straight. It is a lot of hard work and long hours, but it is what I do. Living and working in this part of Kolkata is just my normal life. I keep things practical and don't worry about being polished.
