Shurabe Engineering

Shurabe Engineering is located at 3 Maa Varity Carbala, near the Sunarpur Station. You can hear the trains passing by all day long. It’s a workshop where we do various engineering tasks. We have some lathes and welding equipment. Most of our work involves fixing metal parts or making small components for local businesses. The floor is concrete and usually has some metal shavings scattered around. It’s a noisy place. Between the grinders and the trains, you have to shout a bit to be heard. We wear old clothes because they always get stained with oil or burnt by sparks. We don't have a reception desk or anything like that. If you come by, you just walk into the shed and find us. We take on all sorts of odd jobs. Sometimes someone needs a gate welded or a pump part repaired. It’s dirty, physical work and the heat from the welding can be quite a lot in the summer. We have a small bench outside where we take breaks and drink tea. We’ve been at this location for some time now. We just focus on getting the metalwork done correctly so people don't have to come back twice. It is just a basic shop for people who need things built or fixed. We don't have a website or anything, people just know us from the station area. It’s hard work but we are used to the noise.
