Shree Ma Shantoshi Spares

Shree Ma Shantoshi Spares is on Goa Bagan Street, right at 19/A/26. We’re quite close to the Scottish Church School, so we get to hear the school bells and the kids heading home in the afternoon. This part of the city is old and the streets are narrow, so it’s always a bit of a squeeze getting deliveries in. Our shop is packed to the rafters with all sorts of spare parts. It might look a bit disorganized to an outsider, but we know exactly where every bolt and gasket is hidden. We’ve been here a long time, and the building shows its age, but it’s sturdy. People from the neighborhood and mechanics from further away come to us when they can't find a specific part elsewhere. We spend a lot of time digging through boxes and checking part numbers. It’s dusty work, and we usually have a cup of tea sitting on the counter. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just talk to people face-to-face. It’s a traditional way of running things, and it works for us. The noise of the street is just part of the day. We keep the shop open late most days to make sure we help everyone who stops by. It’s a modest operation, just us and our shelves of metal and plastic. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't, just a place to find what you need to fix a machine.
