Our office is tucked away in Regent Estate at 125, Unit-2. It’s a fairly quiet spot in the Kolkata-700092 area. We’ve been operating from this location for some time now, mostly helping people with their personal tax returns and business audits. It’s not a fancy setup with glass walls or modern art. We have regular desks, old computers, and a whole lot of paper. That’s pretty much the reality of being a chartered accountant in a city like this. Some days are much busier than others, especially when the tax deadlines start getting close. You’ll usually find us staring at our screens or discussing a specific rule in the tax code. We try to keep things as simple as possible. When a client comes in, we offer them a chair and a glass of water and then get straight into the documents. There’s really no need to make things more complicated than they already are. Living and working in Kolkata means dealing with the humidity and the street noise, but we’re used to it. The people in the neighborhood know us as the ones who handle the money side of things. We don’t do big speeches or fancy presentations. We just do the work that is required. The files are organized by year, though sometimes the stacks get a little high on the corner desk. It’s just how it goes when you’re dealing with years of financial records. We keep our heads down and stay busy.
