Sarbani Sarkar

We are situated at number 24 on B.T. Road, right in the Viveknagar part of Kolkata. Sarbani Sarkar is the name on the papers, but to us, it’s just our daily workspace. B.T. Road is always crowded and loud, so we’ve gotten used to the sound of horns and buses passing by 24/7. Our little spot in 700119 isn't anything fancy to look at. We’ve got our desks and our supplies, and that’s about it. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders as long as we can get our work done. It’s a local operation, mostly just family and a couple of helpers. People from around Viveknagar stop by occasionally to see what we are up to. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed right here. Sometimes the electricity goes out or the internet acts up, but we just keep going. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till evening. We don’t use any complicated systems, just basic stuff that works for us. If you walk down B.T. Road, you might miss us if you aren't looking, but we like it that way. It’s quiet enough inside to focus, even with the city rushing by right outside the door. We don't need much more than a roof over our heads and some work to do.
