If you are looking for our office, we are tucked away at 42 Surya Sen Pally. It is in the Matkal area near Rabindranagar, specifically over in Dum Dum Cantt. Kolkata is a huge city, but this little corner feels more like a neighborhood where everyone knows each other’s business. S, M. Mishra And Associates is not some big firm with a massive skyscraper office. We have a modest space that gets the job done for us. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint one of these days, but they hold up our shelves full of files just fine. We spend most of our mornings drinking chai and looking over the different papers that come in. It is quiet enough to think, though the sounds of the local market reach us when the windows are open. We have been here long enough that the local postman does not even need to look at the house number anymore. He just knows where the Mishra office is. We do not do any real advertising; people usually just find us through word of mouth. It is a bit of a walk from the main station, but not too bad if the weather stays nice. We have a few old ceiling fans that hum all day long. It is just a regular workplace where we handle what our associates need. We try to keep things simple. If you visit, you will see a stack of newspapers and a few umbrellas.
