S K Kanodia & Associates

Our workspace is tucked away at 39 A, Jorapukur Square Lane, which is one of those narrow lanes in the north part of Kolkata. Being near the Girish Park Metro Station is very helpful because it means people do not have to struggle with too much traffic to reach us. S K Kanodia & Associates is a small setup with a few rooms in a building that has a lot of history. The furniture is mostly old wooden desks and cabinets filled with files. We do not have a fancy reception area or anyone waiting at the door. You just come inside and find us at our desks working. The sounds of the neighborhood are always there, from children playing to the local sellers shouting. It makes the place feel very real and connected to the city. Most of our day is spent looking at papers and using the computer. It is straightforward work without any frills. We have known the other people on this lane for a long time and it feels like a small village sometimes. During the rainy season, the lane can get a bit muddy, but we still show up and get the tasks done. We do not have a big corporate team, just us handling things in our own way in the 700006 area. We just focus on what is on the desk for the day and go from there.
