S. C. Dutta & Sons is located at 109-B, Biplabi Rash Behari Basu Road. This is a very old part of the city and the road is always packed with people, rickshaws, and cars honking their horns. Our place has been here for a long, long time, and you can see it in the way the wooden shelves are sagging a bit under the weight of all the ledger books and stock. It’s a family business, so there is always someone’s cousin or son running around or sitting in the back having a meal. We don't really use a computer for everything; some things are still written down by hand in big books because that's how it’s always been done. The air is thick with the smell of old paper and the street food from outside. It’s not a polished environment by any means. There are piles of boxes in the hallways and the lights flicker sometimes when it rains. But we know every inch of 109-B. We’ve dealt with the same suppliers for decades, and we like the familiarity of it all. People know they can find us here on Biplabi Rash Behari Basu Road from early morning until late evening. It is just a place where work gets done in its own slow, steady way. We don't need any bells or whistles to do what we do.
