Roy Medicine Centre

Roy Medicine Centre is located at 2/2 Harisabha Road. We are right near the Anandapuri Play Ground in Barrackpore. It’s a nice enough area, especially when the kids are out playing on the grounds. Our shop is in the Nona Chandanpukur part of town. We’ve been here for a good number of years now. The shop itself is pretty straightforward. We have glass counters where we keep the smaller items and tall shelves for the rest. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of variety on hand. You can usually find one of us sitting behind the counter reading the paper or checking the stock levels when it's quiet. When the afternoon sun hits the front of the shop, it gets quite bright, so we sometimes pull the shade down a bit. We get a lot of locals who stop by on their way home from the market or after picking up their kids. It’s a friendly neighborhood, so we end up chatting quite a bit with the regulars who have been coming for years. We don't have any complicated systems; we just write things down in our books and make sure the customers get what they came for. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the traffic on Harisabha Road, but that’s just how it is around here. We just keep the door open and wait for the next person to walk in.
