Pharma Gen

Pharma Gen is located on Deben Sen Road in Agarpara, right near the railway station. Because we are so close to the tracks, we hear the trains passing by all day and night. You eventually stop noticing the sound after a few weeks of working here. The shop is tucked away and doesn’t have a very big entrance. We handle a lot of different medicine supplies for the people who pass through on their way to the trains. It’s a lot of physical work like moving boxes and climbing ladders to reach the top shelves. We don't have a website or any fancy social media pages. Most people find us just by walking past or hearing about us from a neighbor. The floors are made of stone and they get quite cold in the winter months. We have a small kettle in the back where we make tea during our breaks. My uncle started this place years ago and we just keep it going as best we can. We aren't trying to grow into some huge company. We are just happy to have a steady business here in Agarpara. Sometimes the rain leaks in through the window frame so we keep some rags handy. It’s an old place with a lot of character and we like it that way. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
