You can find our shop at 10 N.C. Mitra Road over in the Dumdum Cantonment area. It’s a bit of a walk from the main station, but it’s a nice enough street. We’ve been here for several years now. The building is just a standard one and our shop is on the ground floor. We have some glass displays in the front where we put the nicer clothes so they don't get dusty. Inside, it’s mostly racks of everyday wear. The floor is a bit uneven in places, but we’ve gotten used to it. We have an old desk where we keep the ledger and the cash box. Dumdum Cantonment is a busy area, but our specific road stays relatively calm compared to the main market. We get a lot of people stopping by on their way home in the evening. We stay open a bit later than some other shops just for those people. There is no air conditioning, just a big pedestal fan that we move around depending on where we are sitting. We do our own cleaning every morning before we open up. It’s just a straightforward clothing shop. We don’t try to act like we’re in a big shopping mall. We just offer what we have on the racks and talk to whoever walks in. Sometimes we spend the whole afternoon just rearranging the stock to make it look a bit better.
