Ritu Kumar(Ritika Pvt Ltd)

The office here in Sector-A of the Metropolitan Housing Society is where most of the daily stuff happens. It’s a busy spot in Kolkata, and if you’ve ever tried to navigate the lanes around here during peak hours, you know it takes some patience. We’ve been at 147 for a good while, and the space has sort of grown around us. There’s always someone coming in with a roll of fabric or some papers to sign. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything like that, just a solid place where people show up every morning to get the work done. Ritika Pvt Ltd is the name on the papers, but around here, everyone just knows it’s where the Ritu Kumar clothes come to life. Sometimes the humidity in Kolkata gets a bit much, but we have the fans going and the tea stays hot. People stop by to drop off samples or just to have a quick word about a deadline. We don't really do the big corporate meetings here. It’s more about sitting down at the desks, looking at the designs, and making sure the stitching is right. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, which is nice when we’re trying to focus on the finer details of the garments. We just keep our heads down and handle the orders as they come in. It’s a lot of manual work and checking things twice, but that’s how we’ve always operated in this part of town.
