Jai Ram Furniture is over at No. 2A Ashiwini Nagar Lane in Ranikuthi, Regent Park. It’s a place that usually smells like wood and polish. We’ve got different pieces sitting around the shop, some finished and some just getting started. It’s not a shiny showroom like the ones you see in the big malls. Our floors have a bit of dust on them, and there are tools lying on the workbenches. That’s just the nature of working with furniture. We spend most of our hours here, measuring things out or putting the finishing touches on a table or a chair. Being in the Ashiwini Nagar Lane area means we get a lot of locals walking in just to see what we’re making. We don't have a fancy sales team. If you come in, you’ll probably just talk to whoever isn't holding a hammer at that moment. We’ve been at this location for a good bit of time and people know us as the local furniture spot. We don't make big promises or use fancy words to describe what we do. We just build things that people need for their homes. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. Jai Ram Furniture is basically just our workshop and a small area to show what’s ready. It’s simple, a bit noisy sometimes, but it’s our way of making a living in Regent Park. We’re just here working.
