You can find Rashmi Fashions over at 5 Sambhu Mallick Lane. We are right in the heart of Burra Bazar, which is probably one of the busiest places you could pick in the whole city. It’s loud, it’s crowded, and there is always a truck or a rickshaw blocking the lane outside our door. But that’s where the action is for the garment trade. We deal in all kinds of garments. Our shop is small, and every inch of wall space is covered with stock we’ve brought in. We’ve been here for years, and we’ve seen the market change a lot. We don't have a website or do much on the internet. We prefer talking to people face-to-face when they come in. Burra Bazar isn't for everyone, but if you want to see how the garment trade really works, this is the place to be. We start our day early, usually before the heat gets too bad in the narrow lanes. We spend hours unpacking bundles and getting them ready for sale to the people who come by. It’s tiring, and the dust from the street gets in everywhere, but we are used to it by now. We don't use big words or try to act like we are bigger than we are. We just sell clothes to people who need them at a price they can afford. Most of our customers are other shopkeepers or people who have been coming to us for decades.
