We are tucked away on the first floor of 29A Rabindra Sarani. If you’re looking for us, we are in Room No 6. It’s a small space, but we have everything we need for shoe repairs and work. This part of Kolkata is always crowded and noisy, which we’ve gotten used to over the years. We aren't a big factory or anything like that. It’s more of a workshop. There are tools everywhere and the smell of leather and glue is pretty strong. We spend most of our day sitting at the workbenches. People bring in all sorts of shoes. Some are falling apart and others just need a quick fix. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s just a room where we get the job done. Sometimes it’s hard to find the building if you aren't looking closely at the numbers. The stairs are a bit narrow. We’ve been in this spot for a long time. It’s a simple business. We don't do big ads. Most folks know us from word of mouth or just passing by on the street. It gets hot in the summer since we’re on the first floor, but we have fans. We keep things pretty informal here. It’s just us working on shoes and chatting with the people who drop by. There’s no corporate ladder here, just a few of us making sure the work is finished on time. We try to be careful with the items left with us. Actually, the room is quite packed with boxes right now.
