Being on the 5th floor of Saha Court on GC Avenue means we see a lot of the city every day. Kolkata is always moving and being at 32 8 GC Avenue puts us right in the thick of it. At R M Jain Associates Chartered Accountants, we deal with a lot of paper. There are stacks of files on almost every desk and the sound of calculators is pretty much constant. The building is older, but it has character. The lift works most of the time, but sometimes we just take the stairs if we are in a hurry. West Bengal 700013 is a busy part of town. We have been here for a long time. People come in with their folders and we sit down to go through the numbers together. It is quiet work mostly, interrupted by the occasional phone call or someone dropping off a package. The office does not have those modern glass walls you see in new buildings. We have wooden desks and old fans that hum while we work. It gets hot in the summers, so we keep the windows shut when the air conditioning is running. We know the other tenants in Saha Court and we usually grab lunch from the same stalls nearby. It is just a normal accounting life here in Kolkata, keeping track of things and making sure the records stay organized for anyone who needs them.
