R Kumar & Company

Our workshop at 84/1B, Topsia Road (South) has been around for quite a while. R Kumar & Company is mostly just a group of us who know how to handle production. Topsia is a loud, busy area and our building is right in the middle of it all. We don’t have any marketing people or a fancy front office. If you come by, you’ll just see us working with the machinery or packing up boxes for delivery. It’s a lot of manual labor and it gets sweaty in the summer months. We mostly deal with local orders that have been coming in for years. There’s always a bit of dust on the shelves and the floor is never really clean for long. We don’t use complicated management styles here. We just look at the orders for the day and divide the work up. It’s about keeping the machines running and making sure nobody gets hurt. We drink a lot of tea to keep going. Most of the folks working here live just a few streets away. We like being a local business that people can rely on without any extra fuss. It’s just a plain brick building with a lot of activity inside. We don't have a mission statement, we just have a lot of work to finish by evening. When the rainy season hits, we have to be extra careful with the stock.
