R K Harlalka & Co

Our office is tucked away in Building Number 7 on Canal Street, specifically at number 255. Kolkata 700048 is a bit of a mixed area, with some old buildings and new spots popping up here and there. We’ve been in this particular building for a good number of years. It’s got that old-school feel to it, and we haven't really felt the need to change much about how we set things up. R K Harlalka & Co is a small operation, run by people who actually care about the work they’re doing. We don’t have a marketing department or anything like that, so we rely on people finding us because they heard we do a decent job. The space is filled with folders and old registers, which might look messy to an outsider, but it’s our system. We spend our mornings catching up on emails and our afternoons dealing with the more hands-on parts of the business. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve developed over a long period. Canal Street can be a bit of a nightmare for traffic at certain times, but once you get inside the building, it’s relatively quiet. We just aim to be reliable and get through the pile of work on our desks. There’s no big secret to what we do, just putting in the hours and making sure things are correct before they leave the office. We usually lock up around six and head home.
