R. A. Auto Engineering Works

R. A. Auto Engineering Works sits at No. 24/1/1 on Muzaffar Ahmed Street. It’s a typical engineering setup with the smell of oil and the sound of machines running most of the day. We’ve got lathes and tools scattered around the floor, and there’s usually a thin layer of metal shavings everywhere. The street outside is always busy, and we’ve become a part of the local scenery over the years. We take in whatever auto parts need fixing or modifying. It’s mostly hands-on work. We don't use fancy computers for much; it’s more about knowing how the machines feel and sound. The guys here have been doing this for a long time, so they don't need much instruction. We have a small area where we sit and talk to customers about what’s wrong with their engines or parts. It’s often hot in the workshop, especially in the afternoons, but we just keep the fans going and stay busy. We aren't interested in being a big corporate shop. We just like fixing things and making sure the engineering is solid. People bring us stuff that other places won't touch. We take our time, do it manually, and hand it back when it’s ready. It’s simple, honest work on a street that’s seen a lot of history. We usually stay late if a job is particularly stubborn or needs extra attention. That’s just how we get things done at the end of the day.
