We’re located at 8/1 Loudon Street, and the place is called Purple Rain. It’s more of a small boutique space than anything else. We don’t have a massive team, just a few of us who handle the clothes and the customers who walk in. The shop floor is usually a bit chaotic with new stock arriving or things being moved around to make more room. We try to keep it looking alright, but it’s a constant battle with the hangers and the folding. Loudon Street is a decent place to be, even if the traffic gets stuck right outside our window every afternoon. We spend a lot of time just chatting with people who come in to browse. It’s not a high-pressure environment; we’re just here to sell some nice things. Most of the stuff we carry is stuff we actually like ourselves. We don’t really follow all the big trends strictly, we just pick what looks good. There’s always a pile of boxes in the back room that needs to be sorted, but we get to it when we can. It’s a simple way to make a living. We don't have any big corporate goals, we just want to keep the shop running and make sure people find something they like wearing. It’s a bit of work, but we enjoy the quiet days when we can just reorganize the shelves and see what's new.
