You will find our workshop in the Anandamath block, over in Ichapur Nawabganj. The address is Vill-488/C. It is located in the North 24 Parganas area, which has a lot of small workshops and factories like ours. We focus on diesel engines. These machines are heavy and very loud, and they need a lot of looking after to keep them running. Our workshop has been here for a long time, and it always smells like fuel and old metal. That is just the way it is when you work with diesels every day. We spend our time cleaning injectors, fixing fuel pumps, and making sure the engines have enough power. It is a dirty job, and we usually end the day covered in black soot and grime. We have a small crew of guys who really know these engines inside out. We do not use computers for every single thing; a lot of it is just listening to the sound the engine makes and knowing which part is loose or broken. People bring in engines from trucks or big generators from all over the district. We do not have a fancy office for meetings or paperwork. We usually just talk out on the shop floor where all the work actually happens. Sometimes parts are hard to find, so we have to wait a few days, but we try to keep things moving. It is a steady rhythm of hard work.
