Poornima Dresses

We’ve been at Asgar Mistry Lane for a long time now. It’s a busy little spot but we really like it here. Poornima Dresses is where we spend almost all of our daylight hours. Usually, things get a bit messy with fabrics everywhere. Sometimes the tea guy comes by twice a day and we take a short break. It's just a regular, honest place. We handle a lot of different orders for various people. Some days are slow, while on others we can't even see the floor for all the scraps and threads. It’s definitely not a fancy shop. My cousin helps out when he can, and we just get on with the sewing and the selling. The lane can be a bit hard to find if you aren't looking specifically for number 14/ H/2, but we've been around long enough that most of the neighbors know where we are. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it pours really hard, but we manage with a few buckets. It’s just how it goes when you run a small business. We make clothes that people actually wear in their daily lives, nothing for the movies or anything special like that. Just normal stuff for normal folks. Most of our tools are pretty old but they still work just fine. If you walk past our door, you'll probably hear the machines humming. It’s a steady sound that we’ve gotten used to. Sometimes customers stay and chat for much longer than they really should.
