The building, Amiya Niwas, has a bit of history to it, like many places in Kolkata. It’s not a modern glass tower, but it has plenty of room for us to work. We aren’t really into the corporate lifestyle. We just come in, do our tasks, and go home. Some days are slower than others. Raipur Road is always busy with traffic and people walking to the local shops. We can hear the trams and the horns from our windows. It’s a typical Kolkata setting. We do our best to keep things running smoothly without making a big fuss about it. We don’t have a mission statement or anything written on the walls. We just know what needs to be done. It’s a small team here. We’ve grown used to the quirks of the building, like the slow elevator and the way the lights flicker sometimes. It feels like home to us now. Most of our work is done at desks, looking at data or talking on the phone. We stay busy and we stay local. Raipur Road is a good place to be if you want to be in the heart of things. There’s always someone selling chai nearby, which is nice when the afternoon slump hits us. We enjoy the pace of life in this part of Kolkata.
