You can find our office at 4, Ganesh Chandra Avenue. The building is one of those older structures that has been around for decades in this part of the city. We mostly deal with consumer goods, the kind of things people buy every day at the corner store. It involves a lot of inventory management and making sure the delivery trucks get loaded on time without too many mistakes. The office is usually full of tall stacks of invoices and people talking loudly on their phones. It gets noisy because of the heavy street traffic right outside our windows. We do not have a showroom or a fancy lobby for guests. It is just a practical, working space. We have had the same delivery drivers for a long time, and they know all the best shortcuts to avoid the afternoon jams. Sometimes the lift in the building stops working, so we have to carry boxes up the stairs, which is quite a chore. We don't spend any money on decorating the place because we are usually too busy with the daily orders. It is just how things are here. We manage the flow of goods from the manufacturers to the local shops. Every morning starts with a long list of what needs to go out by noon. We check the stock levels, make our calls, and try to keep things moving. It’s a job that doesn't really have an end point, it just repeats every day.
