Pecon Engineers

Being over here at 35 Diamond Harbour Road puts us right in the middle of all the noise in Sakherbazar. Pecon Engineers is not a huge place, but we stay busy enough to keep the lights on. The traffic outside our door is always loud. You can hear the buses and the horns all day long while we are trying to work. We do engineering tasks, mostly small or medium things that the local businesses around here need. It gets a bit dusty inside because of the main road being so close, but we try to keep the tools in good shape. We started out with just two or three people and it is still pretty much that same small group today. We do not have a fancy waiting room with chairs. If someone comes by to talk about a job, they usually just stand in the workshop with us. It is much more direct that way. Engineering is not always a pretty business. It is about making things fit together and making sure they work. Sometimes we end up staying late when a particular job gets tricky. Sakherbazar has changed a lot since we first came here, but we have stayed right at this same spot. We know the guy at the tea stall and all the other shop owners on the block. It feels like home even when the work is stressful. We just keep working.
