Partner, Saswati Ghosh & Co

Our office is Saswati Ghosh & Co, located at Flat 5C in the Ashoka building. The address is 111 Dr M N Saha Sarani, Kolkata - 700029. It’s a bit of a climb up if the lift is acting up, but it’s a good spot. We do accounting and audit work for various people and small businesses. Being a partner here means I spend most of my time checking over what the staff has done and meeting with people who need help with their taxes. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. The office is full of folders and old ledgers. We don’t have a minimalist design or anything like that. It looks like a place where people actually work. Dr M N Saha Sarani is a well-known road, so people usually find us without too much trouble. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Most people hear about us from their friends or family. We like keeping it that way. It’s a more personal way to do business. We just sit down, look at the files, and try to make sense of the numbers. Sometimes we stay late when the tax deadlines are near, drinking coffee and double-checking everything. It’s just how this job is. We are honest about what we can do and we don’t make big promises. We just do the work.
