Orissa Manganese & Minerals Limited is located in Lansdowne Tower, over at 2/1 A Sarat Bose Road. We are a part of the Adhunik Group. Being on Sarat Bose Road means we are right in the heart of things, which is convenient for meetings but tough for parking. Our work is all about mining manganese and other minerals. The actual mines are far away, of course. Here in the tower, we handle all the management and the sales side of the business. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls. We deal with logistics, trying to figure out how to get the minerals from the pits to the buyers. It’s a complicated process with a lot of moving parts. The office is usually cluttered with reports and maps of different sites. We aren't a flashy company with a lot of marketing talk. We’ve been in the mineral business for a long time and we just know how it works. It’s about the quality of the ore and getting it delivered on time. Sometimes the days are long, especially when there are new regulations to figure out. We just sit at our desks, drink our tea, and get through the files. It’s a steady, traditional kind of business. We don't need to dress it up with fancy words. We move minerals, and that’s the long and short of it.
