Oneiro Fashion House

Down in Behala, on Banerjeepara Road, you will find us at number 52/2. Kolkata is a city that never really stops, and this neighborhood is no different. Oneiro Fashion House is where we spend most of our hours. It is full of fabrics, threads, and the sound of machines if you come by at the right time. We did not start this to be on a runway or anything like that. It was more about having a local spot to make things. The streets around here can get pretty narrow and crowded, especially when it rains. We have got stacks of material in the corners and patterns pinned up on the walls. It is a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. The staff here have been together for a while. We talk a lot while we work, mostly about the day's tasks or what is happening in the area. Being in Behala gives us a certain perspective on things. It is not like the big malls. It is real and a bit gritty. We just focus on the garments and making sure the stitches are straight. Every day is a bit different depending on what order we are trying to finish. We drink a lot of chai and keep the fans running during the humid months. It is a steady life here on Banerjeepara Road, and we are quite content with the way we do things at our own pace without any pressure.
