On The Rocks

Our spot is located at 4B Chowringhee Road on the corner of Princep Street. It’s a well-known part of Kolkata, right in the 700072 area. The place is called On The Rocks. It’s a bit of an old-school establishment, situated in a building that has seen a lot of history. We’ve been operating here for a good amount of time, and the vibe is pretty laid back. We aren’t trying to be one of those modern, ultra-sleek lounges you see in the newer parts of the city. Instead, we have a more lived-in feel. The walls have some wear, and the furniture is simple, but it’s a place where people feel comfortable coming in for a drink and a chat. The street outside is always buzzing with traffic and pedestrians, being Chowringhee and all, but once you step inside, it’s a bit of a different world. We don’t have a PR team writing our descriptions or anything like that. It’s just us running the bar day in and day out. We spend a lot of time managing the inventory and making sure the fridge is stocked. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk with the regular customers who have been coming here for years. Other nights get pretty loud when the crowd picks up. We just take it as it comes. It’s a straightforward business in a very busy part of town. We just open the doors and see who comes in.
