Nelson Engineering Industries

Down in New Alipore, at 33N, Block B, you’ll find Nelson Engineering Industries. We’ve been set up here for a long time, working on different engineering parts and repairs. The shop floor is usually loud with machines running, and there’s always a bit of metal shavings on the floor by the end of the day. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. It’s mostly just us doing the work and sending it out to whoever ordered it. New Alipur is a decent area to work in, though parking can be a bit of a headache sometimes. We focus on the metalwork and making sure the dimensions are right. Some of our machines are older, but they work just fine because we take care of them. People know us as the place that gets the job done without a lot of talking. We have our regulars who come back whenever they need a specific part fixed or made from scratch. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know. The office is small and usually has stacks of drawings all over the table. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can, but good work takes its own time. That’s just the reality of engineering. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to keep the shop running and the customers satisfied with the parts we make.
