R.K. Patodi is located out in Barisha on Nabaliapara Road. The address is a bit of a mouthful, 30/2/2, but it’s not too hard to find once you are in the neighborhood. We are a firm of chartered accountants, which means we spend most of our time looking at numbers and tax laws. It isn't the sort of work that everyone likes, but we’ve been doing it here for years. The office is simple. We don't have a receptionist or a big lobby. Usually, you just walk in and one of us will be there at a desk. The Barisha area is a bit quieter than central Kolkata, which is nice for focusing on the details of an audit. We have a lot of long-term clients who have been coming to us since we first opened. We deal with the government forms, the GST filings, and the yearly accounts. It’s a lot of sitting and a lot of reading fine print. Sometimes we take a break to get some snacks from the shops down the road. Our office hours are pretty standard, but we stay as long as the work takes. There’s no corporate fluff here. Just a small team of people who know how to handle the books. The walls are a bit plain, and the ceiling fan wobbles a little, but the work gets done correctly and on time. We just keep our heads down and focus on the math without overcomplicating things.
