Mortex (International)

We are located at 1A, East India House. It’s an old building on British Indian Street, and you can feel the history in the walls. The elevator is a bit slow and makes a funny noise sometimes, so we usually just take the stairs to get up to the office. Working here means dealing with a lot of paperwork and phone calls throughout the day. It’s an international business under the name Mortex, but the office itself feels very local and small. We’ve been at 20 British Indian Street for many years now. There's always noise coming up from the street outside, mostly horns and people shouting in the city rush. We handle various goods and shipments from different places. It’s mostly just making sure things get from one port to another without too much trouble or delay. Sometimes there are problems at the customs office, and we have to spend the whole day on the phone trying to clear things up. It's not always exciting work, but it keeps us busy from morning till evening. Our desks are usually covered in folders, pens, and half-empty tea cups. Most of us have been working together for a long time, so we’re like a small family. We know the other people in the building and say hello in the hallway. It’s a bit cramped with all the old files, but we make it work for us. Every morning starts with a mountain of emails to go through. Then we check on the orders and see what needs doing next.
