Mini Engineering Works

Mini Engineering Works is a small shop located at number 1, Bachar Para Road in Thakurpukur. If you walk inside, the first thing you will notice is the smell of oil and metal. It is a very specific scent that stays on your clothes even after you go home. We have a few machines that are quite old but they still work just fine for what we do. The floor is concrete and it has plenty of stains from years of work. Thakurpukur is a busy area and Bachar Para Road has its own set of regulars who pass by every day. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know how to handle the tools. Most of our day is spent fixing things or making small parts that people need. It is loud because of the grinding and the banging of metal. We don't really have a waiting room or anything comfortable like that. People usually just stand around or come back later when the job is done. I keep a radio playing in the corner to have some music while we work. The light inside isn't great, but we have some big bulbs hanging from the ceiling. It is honest work and we don't try to make it seem like more than it is. We just take the orders as they come and try to finish them on time. It gets hot in the summer with the machines running.
