Medicine Mart

Medicine Mart is tucked away at 35 C Tara Chand Dutta Street. If you know Central Kolkata, you know how these streets can get. It's always crowded and there is a lot of noise from the traffic outside. We have been at this address for a long time. The building is old, like most things in this part of Central Kolkata, but it stays sturdy. We spend our days mostly sorting through boxes and helping whoever walks through the door. It’s a small space, so we have to use every bit of the walls for shelving. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because the narrow roads get blocked, which is just how it goes here. We don’t have any big fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just us and the medicine. We keep a ledger for the daily stuff and try to stay organized, though it gets a bit messy when we are busy. People from the neighborhood stop by, and we’ve seen the street change over the years. Tara Chand Dutta Street has a lot of history, and we are just one small part of it. The fan overhead hums all day long. We keep the shutters open until late. It's a plain, honest business. Not much more to say than that. Just a local spot in the middle of Central Kolkata where we do our work and keep things going as they always have.
