Medas Food Products

Our place is in Baguiati, specifically Eb-9 in Desh Bandhu Nagar. It is a bit of a walk from the main road, but most people find us eventually. We make food products here. It’s a small setup really, just a couple of rooms where we handle the cooking and the packing. Sometimes it gets a bit messy with the flour and the spices, but we clean up every night before going home. I started Medas Food Products because I liked the idea of making something that people actually use in their kitchens. We don't have fancy machines, so a lot of it is done by hand. My sister and a couple of ladies from the block help with the packing. We usually start early in the morning so we can get the batches ready before the afternoon heat. The smells from the spices usually tell people they’ve reached the right house. It’s a quiet residential area mostly, so we try not to make too much noise with the grinders. The local shops take most of what we make. We don't really have a big sales team or anything like that. It's just us doing our bit. If you come by, you'll probably see me at the back checking the inventory or talking to the delivery boys. It’s hard work, and my back hurts some days, but seeing the packets ready to go is a good feeling.
