We are based on the first floor of a building on Dakhsindari Road. It is a busy part of Kolkata and the noise from the street usually comes right through our windows. We work with food and drinks here. Our space is not very large, but we make it work for what we need to do. Most of our time is spent checking bottles and making sure the packaging is done right. The stairs up to our floor are a bit steep, so carrying supplies up and down can be a real chore. We have a small group of people working here and we all know our roles. It is a steady routine of filling orders and cleaning up the workspace. We started this because we wanted to have a local business in our own neighborhood. Sometimes the fans do not do much against the heat, but we just keep working anyway. We do not use any complicated technology. It is mostly manual work and keeping an eye on the inventory levels. You can often see delivery trucks trying to find a spot to park outside on the narrow road. It is a bit chaotic at times, but that is just how this area is. We just focus on getting the daily tasks finished so we can go home and do it again the next day.
