Our office is tucked away in Marshall House over at 25 Strand Road, specifically in room 01-77. It’s an old building, so the elevators are sometimes a bit slow, and the hallways have that specific smell of old paper and stone. Mahr Exim Pvt. Ltd. has been here for a good bit of time. Strand Road is always packed with traffic, especially near the river, so getting to work in the morning can be a bit of a challenge. Inside, it’s mostly desks piled with folders and a couple of computers that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking shipping papers. It’s a bit cramped with all the boxes around, but we manage to find what we need. It’s not a silent office by any means. There’s usually someone shouting across the room or the sound of the printer going off. We take our lunches together at the small desks or sometimes go out for a quick bite if the weather isn't too humid. Being in an export-import business means we are always looking at clocks and dates. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure everything matches up. We aren't trying to be fancy here; we just want to get the documents processed so the goods can move. It feels like a second home because we spend so much time within these four walls. There is always more filing to do every afternoon to keep the records straight.
