Mahaveer Trading

Mahaveer Trading is located over at 30 Phears Lane in Kolkata. If you know the area, we are right near the Islamia Hospital, which is a big landmark that helps people find us. This part of the city is always crowded and noisy, with carts and people moving everywhere. We deal with trading various goods, and our day usually starts pretty early to beat some of the heat and the heaviest traffic. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a practical space filled with samples and records. We talk to a lot of suppliers and local shopkeepers who are looking for specific items. It’s a lot of bargaining and checking quality. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because Phears Lane is so narrow, and it can be a bit of a headache. We’ve been in this spot for a while, so we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. We don’t do much fancy advertising or anything like that. People usually find us through word of mouth or because they’re already in the area for the hospital or the markets. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting boxes and making sure the bills are right. It's a bit dusty and the fans are always running, but that’s just how it is in this line of business. We just stay busy and keep the trading going. Every day brings a new set of challenges with the vendors and the local transport.
