Madhu Agarwal Creation

We are located at 26 Lee Road, inside the Lee Residential area. It is a much quieter spot than the main markets, which is nice because we can actually hear ourselves think while we work. The space is part of a residential building, so it feels more like a home than an office. We have a few rooms dedicated to Madhu Agarwal Creation, mostly filled with rolls of cloth and sketches pinned to the walls. The natural light comes in through the big windows in the afternoon, which is when we do most of our color matching. It’s not a place where you’ll find a big sign or flashing lights. We just have our equipment and a couple of people helping out with the cutting and stitching. There’s usually a pot of tea going in the small kitchen area, and the smell of steam from the iron hangs in the air. We spend a lot of time just moving from one room to another, looking for a specific thread or a piece of chalk that someone misplaced. The hallway is narrow and sometimes gets blocked by boxes that are waiting to be picked up. It’s a bit disorganized at times, especially when a big project is halfway through, but we have our own way of finding things. Living and working in the same general area means we know the neighbors well. It’s a low-key operation, just a steady pace of work day after day.
