M. K. Export & Import

If you go to 23a N. S. Road and head up to the first floor you will see our door. This part of the city is always full of people rushing to work. The building is one of those old ones with the heavy wooden doors and high ceilings that keep things cool. We have been running M. K. Export & Import from this office for a long time. It feels like the walls are filled with old ledgers and memories of different trades. We handle both things coming in and things going out. Every day is different depending on what arrives at the port. There is always a lot of paperwork to sign and stamps to press. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up so we take the stairs which is good exercise anyway. The light in the office is a bit dim in the corners but we have good lamps on the desks. We don't spend money on expensive furniture because the old stuff still works fine. You can hear the trams and the cars honking outside all afternoon. It is the sound of the city working. We usually have a lot of files stacked up because there is always something to check. We just do the work and try to stay organized in our own way. It gets a bit messy when we are busy, but we eventually clear the piles of documents by the weekend.
